United Way Campaign Co-Chairs Gearing Up For A Successful Campaign
Fairbanks, AK (February 24, 2006)

Billie Blanchard, President and CEO of MAC Federal Credit Union, and Jack Wilbur, President of Design Alaska will co-chair United Way of the Tanana Valley's 2006 annual campaign. The campaign officially kicks off on Tuesday, September 5, at the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce Luncheon at the Westmark at noon.

Both Billie and Jack agree that when we unite together as a community we can accomplish anything!

Billie holds a Masters of Business Organizational Management from the University of LaVerne, a graduate of CUNA Management School, Madison Wisconsin. She is a proud UAF Alumni holding a Bachelors of Business Administration from the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and in addition she holds two associate degrees from UAF. Billie came to work for the credit union in 1994 and has held the CEO position since 1999. Billie has received many awards during her time at the credit union, just to mention a few: 2003 Outstanding Executive of the Year, 2004 MAC Federal Credit Union Family Friendly workplace for helping employee's balances work and family. In 2005 she received the Jim Messer Award in recognition of support to Ft. Wainwright and Eielson AFB. Billie is a Rotarian and married to Randy Blanchard for 26 years.

Jack Wilbur is a fifth generation Alaskan, growing up in the Weeks Field area, attending Denali Elementary School, Main Junior High and graduating from Lathrop High School in 1966. He spent two years at the University of Alaska and then ventured on to Colorado to graduate from University of Colorado in 1970 and received his masters in Mechanical Engineering in 1971. Two years after graduation he was inducted into the Army and served 2 years at Fort Greely, as part of the first draft lottery. He was able to serve as a Mechanical Engineering Assistant at the Arctic Test Center in Fort Greely, which enabled him to hitch hike home every Friday night to spend time with his friends. In 1975 Jack began his career with Design Alaska and today he is the President. Jack is married to Carol and they have 2 children, Sara and Aaron.
